As an interviewer and author of this blog, I had the opportunity to chat with Bailey Weisser, the owner of Hello Jude Photography. Bailey started her photography journey in 2015, inspired by the birth of her first child. After leaving a job that didn't align with her family's needs at the time, she sought a creative hobby and taught herself photography through various online resources. Hello Jude was launched as a portrait and wedding photography service but eventually transitioned to specialize in newborn and family photography. Bailey shares how having a physical studio in an old historic building provides consistency, safety, and climate control for newborn sessions.

I know so many including myself who start doing other photography such as weddings and eventually decide we want to narrow in and simplify a little. It’s often when we do this, that the pieces fall together and our success elevates. It's inspiring to see Bailey's commitment to sharing her expertise and educating others in photography.. By filling a gap in the educational resources available, She has established herself as a valuable source of knowledge. I was curious how a mom of 4 is a full time photographer and has a YouTube, runs a course and puts out amazing content regularly. So I asked her about her time management techniques, such as youtube content, and social media. She suggests batching content days, spending one day to get all of your content filmed and organized. She also makes lists and organizes her priorities at the start of each day into 3 categories: 1. Have to complete, 2. Need to complete, 3. Would like to complete.

“I start with the first and knock out what I can. At the end of the day if 1 is complete but the other 2 aren't’ they move to priorities for the next day. If all three get completed then I move down my big to-do list and pick 3 new things for the next day. Some days none of the 3 get done and the list repeats itself tomorrow.”

Time Management Tips for Mom and Newer Photographers:

In balancing personal and professional life as a mom and photographer, Bailey understands the need for flexibility. She prioritizes tasks by making a daily list and focus on completing the most important items.
